Daphne Lentjes studied Mediterranean Archaeology at VU University Amsterdam and the Università del Salento in Lecce, Italy. She spent several years in Italy and Greece, where she was involved in a number of excavations and other research projects. After her PhD (2013), Daphne worked as a postdoc and university teacher for two years before making a career switch from researcher to funding advisor. After a traineeship at the VU University Grant Desk, she moved to Utrecht University where she gained extensive experience with NWO grants, European H2020 projects and industry-academia collaborations at the Research Support Office of the Faculty of Geosciences. Daphne joined the IXA office UvA-HvA in 2017. She supports researchers of the Faculty of Humanities (ACLC), KNAW-Meertens Instituut and Huygens ING, and AHK (Amsterdam University of the Arts).
